Title: Science of the Dead Sea Scrolls
Producer, Director: Mudbrick Media Audience: all Length: 30 min. Subject: Dead Sea Scrolls Summary: This is a museum video describing the creation, discovery and unraveling of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It shows the techniques of carbon dating, nuclear activation, infrared imaging, DNA analysis, and forensics, which are used to piece together the history and meaning of the scrolls.

A lovely side tour of an important region of Israel.

This video documents a modern Orthodox wedding, placing special emphasis on the biblical and talmudic sourcs of the wedding ceremony. It also explores the couple's engagement, preparations for marriage and the wedding, as well as their reflections several months after marriage.

Subject: Israeli-Palestinian Relations Summary: In 1987, a broadly-based civil revolt of the Palestinian Arab population of the West Bank and Gaza, known as the Intifada, erupted, and has continued ever since. The intifada has had a major impact on the perceptions of the Mid-East conflict by the West, creating problems for Israel. This video studies the Intifada through Israel's eyes.

Since divorce is determined by religious laws, and control is in the hands of the husband, wives must often spend years fighting for their freedom. In Hebrew, with English subtitles.

Despite having been scattered all over the globe, Sephardic Jews have managed to preserve their rich musical heritage. This unusual video enables the viewer to hear and learn about the rich tradition and beautiful music of Ladino love songs, lullabies, songs of mourning, wedding tunes, and melodies from the synagogue. Beautifully done.

Subject: Customs and Ceremonies Summary: This video covers the origin and significance of the following aspects of Judaism: the Sabbath, What is Kosher, Hanukkah, the Shofar, the Mezuzah, Tefillin, and Tzeddakah. In it we visit a scribe, a leatherworker, and a family celebrating Shabbat and Hanukkah. Whenever prayers are recited, the text appears in transliteration and English.

Subject: Torah service Summary: A guide designed for those who may feel uncomfortable in the synagogue because they are not familiar with ritual practice and behavior. Excellently and clearly portrayed, the video shows how the Torah is removed from the Ark, the blessings before and after the Torah reading, and how the Torah is bound, and returned to the Ark. Highly recommended.

Included are Hebrew songs, a dialogue between Bert and Ernie (in Hebrew and English) Hebrew letters and numbers are introduced and we are taken on a tour of Israel, beginning in Metulla.
